MAKE RIGHT DECISIONS ! ! !
First, in view of the Kenneth Star report on President Clinton WE ALL have to be sure that we are MAKING RIGHT DECISIONS (hense todays title). Somewhere along the line, Mr. Clinton decided
Second, I agree with Dr. James Dobsons response to the whole thing. I AM DISAPPOINTED IN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. People knew Mr. Clinton was a bad decision maker when it came to sex & marriage, YET THEY STILL ELECTED Him ...TWICE ... as our DECISION MAKER. Even now, people are STILL saying, It doesnt matter what he does in his personal life. IT DOES MATTER. It MATTERS VERY MUCH ! ! Now look at the laughing stock out president is.
As Christian people, we will have to make VITAL decisions - (these are the moments that define us, just as Mr. Clintons decisions have defined him). WHAT KIND OF DECISIONS are YOU going to make when you think NO ONE is LOOKING - that NO ONE is AROUND. GOD IS LOOKING, GOD IS AROUND. Will you choose correctly between RIGHT and WRONG, SIN or RIGHTEOUSNESS??
TODAYS TEXT:
Deut 30:19-20 (TLB)
19 "I call heaven and earth to witness against you that today I have set before you life or death, blessing or curse. Oh, that you would choose life; that you and your children might live!
20 Choose to love the Lord your God and to obey him and to cling to him, for he is your life and the length of your days. You will then be able to live safely in the land the Lord promised your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."
THE 3 BIG CHOICES OF LIFE:
What am I going to do as a profession?
Who will I marry?
Where will I spend eternity?
What am I going to do as a profession?
Jesus said to certain men, follow Me, and they left all to follow him - it became their profession . . . GOOD DECISION !
However, one man WAS asked to follow Him and he REFUSED ! ! _ BAD DECISION ! !
Matt 19:16-26 (KJV)
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Who will I marry?
Wow, what a question? Although, I have no particular scripture ( except
2 Cor 6:14 (KJV)
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?), marrying the right person can make the difference between living in Heaven or Hell while on earth.
Where will I spend eternity?
There IS a RIGHT DECISION HERE and a WRONG DECISION. You MUST believe in God and you MUST call upon him, otherwise your fate will be that of the rich man in Luke 16:
Luke 16:19-31(KJV)
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And IN HELL he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
THAT MAN IS STILL IN HELL TODAY ! ! ! What decision will YOU make today ??
