Renew Your Mind

Rom 12:1-2 (NIV)

1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship.

2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

HOW DO I RENOVATE MY MIND???

10 and have put on the new self, which is being RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE in the image of its Creator.

Ps 119:9-11(NIV)

9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By LIVING ACCORDING TO YOUR WORD.

10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.

11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

How must we renew our minds - what must we know?

Know that the Kingdom of God is VERY DIFFERENT than the kingdoms of the world (very often they are opposites):

RENOVATE YOUR MIND CONCERNING HOW TO BE GREAT/IMPORTANT:

Mark 10:42-45 (TLB)

42 So Jesus called them to him and said, "As you know, the kings and great men of the earth lord it over the people;

43 but among you it is different. Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant.

44 And whoever wants to be greatest of all must be the slave of all.

45 For even I, the Messiah, am not here to be served, but to help others, and to give my life as a ransom for many."

RENOVATE YOUR MIND CONCERNING LOVE:

Matt 5:43-48 (NIV)

43 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

WHEN YOU DISCOVER A TRUTH IN GOD’S WORD, RENOVATE YOUR MIND . . . CHANGE THE WAY IN WHICH YOU THOUGHT ABOUT THAT SUBJECT TO THE WAY GOD THINKS ABOUT THAT SUBJECT . . . THEN YOU WILL SEE AND UNDERSTAND GOD’S WILL MORE AND MORE ! ! :)
