What Is He Like ?? (The Father)
Too many people did not have good fathers, so for them it is difficult to understand what a father is supposed to be . . .
. . . however, THERE IS HOPE ! ! ! The BIBLE EFFECTIVELY teaches us about the Father and what He is like:
#1.) THE FATHER IS JUST LIKE JESUS
Heb 1:1-4 (NIV) (F) = Father (J) = Jesus
1 In the past God (F) spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
2 but in these last days he (F) has spoken to us by his Son (J), whom he (F) appointed heir of all things, and through whom (J) he (F) made the universe.
3 The Son (J) is the radiance of God's (F) glory and the exact representation of his (F) being, sustaining all things by his (J) powerful word. After he (J) had provided purification for sins, he (J) sat down at the right hand of the Majesty (F) in heaven.
4 So he (J) became as much superior to the angels as the name he (J) has inherited is superior to theirs.
#2.) THE FATHER NOT ONLY SENT HIS SON TO THE CROSS FOR US, BUT WAS PERSONALLY PRESENT IN CHRIST SUFFERING UNTIL THE MOMENT HE (JESUS) BECAME SIN)
2 Cor 5:19 (KJV)
19 To wit, that God (F) was in Christ (J), reconciling the world unto himself (F), not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Cor 5:19 (TLB)
19 For God (F) was in Christ (J), restoring the world to himself (F), no longer counting men's sins against them but blotting them out. This is the wonderful message he (F) has given us to tell others.
He (F) was (personally present - Amplified Bible) in Christ (J), reconciling the world unto himself (F) . . .
Here is something else to think about . . . if God the Father was NOT personally present in Christ (suffering His pain), then why did Jesus cry out, My God, my God, WHY have You forsaken me?
I have grown to APPRECIATE my Father even MORE with the knowledge that He not only SENT His Son, but He EXPERIENCED the pain of my sin on the cross as well . . .
#3.) THE FATHER IS GOOD (AND HE IS A GIVER)
John 3:16-18 (KJV)
16 For God (F) so loved the world, that he (F) gave his (F) only begotten Son (J), that whosoever believeth in him (J) should not perish, but have everlasting life. (3 times the Father is mentioned .. Jesus twice)
17 For God (F) sent not his (F) Son (J) into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him (J) might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him (J) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son (J) of God (F).
#4.) GOD THE FATHER PROVIDES FOR US AND PREPARES OUR LIVES FOR US . . . JUST LIKE A LOVING FATHER SHOULD ! ! !
Gen 1:1(KJV)
1 In the beginning God (F) created the heaven and the earth. (and the plants and animals and food and warmth, etc.)
Heb 1:2 (NIV)
2 but in these last days he (F) has spoken to us by his Son (J), whom he (F) appointed heir of all things, and through whom (J) he (F) made the universe.
IF YOU HAVENT YET, RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR - CALL OUT TO HIS NAME, AND THE FATHER BECOMES YOUR FATHER ! ! !
Believers, CHECK OUT this THRILLING SCRIPTURE:
2 Cor 6:13-18 (NIV)
13 As a fair exchange-- I speak as to my children-- open wide your hearts also.
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
17 "Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."
18 "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
