THE ORIGIN OF THE DEVIL

Ezek 28:12-19 (niv)

12 "son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: 'this is what the sovereign Lord says: "'You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 you were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.

. . . Thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14 you were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones.

15 you were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.

16 through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.

17 your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.

18 by your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching.

19 all the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.'"

Rev 12:7-11 (niv)

7 and there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

8 but he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.

9 the great dragon was hurled down-- that ancient serpent called the devil, or satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

10 then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

11 they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Luke 10:17-20 (niv)

17 the seventy returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

18 he replied, "I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven.

19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

20 however, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Isa 14:12-17 (kjv)

12 how art thou fallen from heaven, o Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 for thou hast said in thine heart, #1.) I will ascend into heaven, #2.) I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: #3.) I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 #4.) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; #5.) I will be like the Most High.

15 yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16 they that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17 that made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

WHAT SATAN DOES NOW

HE LIES:

John 8:44-45 (niv)

44 you belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

45 yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!

HE BLINDS PEOPLE’S EYES TO THE GOSPEL:

2 Cor 4:3-4 (kjv)

3 but if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

HE SEEKS PEOPLE HE CAN DESTROY:

1 Pet 5:8-9 (niv)

8 be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

9 resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

JESUS DEFEATED SATAN :)

Col 2:13-15 (niv)

13 when you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross.

15 and having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE DEVIL?:

Rev 20:1-3 (niv)

1 and I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.

2 he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or satan, and bound him for a thousand years.

3 he threw him into the abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

Rev 20:7-15 (niv)

7 when the thousand years are over, satan will be released from his prison

8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth-- Gog and Magog-- to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.

9 they marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

10 and the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur (fire), where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.

12 and I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

13 the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.

14 then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

15 if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
