REDEMPTION’S GLORY

OK, Jesus was raised from the dead . . . what does that mean for me?? What difference has it made in me?? How am I different than the world??

#1.) I HAVE BEEN REDEEMED, bought back from sin and debt :)

It has been taught (which will be borne out by New Testament scriptures), that when a man or woman owed a debt he could not pay, it was written on the front and back of a scroll, rolled part way, then sealed with wax until the debt could be paid. If again, a debt was incurred that could not be paid, that same scroll was written upon - front and back - and sealed with wax. If the debts amounted to SEVEN SEALS, the YOU BECAME THE PROPERTY of the one to whom you owed the debt.

MANKIND -- YOU -- ME -- have sinned . . . the wages of sin are death . . . we COULD NOT PAY TO REDEEM OURSELVES, therefore:

Rev 5:1-14 (KJV)

1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast REDEEMED us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

What ELSE does the resurrection of Jesus mean to me??

#2.) Many Christians today say, “I’m just an old sinner, saved by grace”. Well, what does the BIBLE say ?? The TRUTH is, I WAS an old sinner, but I got SAVED by Grace ..

Now I am THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST :)

2 Cor 5:21(NIV)

21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, SO THAT IN HIM WE MIGHT BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.

#3.) WE ARE GOD’S WORKMANSHIP (God doesn’t make JUNK :)

Check it out:

Eph 2:10 (NIV)

10 For we are God's WORKMANSHIP (The Greek word is poiema, from which we get our word POEM :) , created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

#4.) WE ARE COMPLETE in Him :)

Col 2:9-10 (KJV)

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are COMPLETE in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

4137 pleroo- COMPLETE (GREEK-THAYER)

1) to make full, to fill up, that is, to fill to the full,

to cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally;

I abound, I am liberally supplied

2) to render full, that is, to complete

a) to fill to the top: so that nothing shall be wanting to

full measure, to fill to the brim

PLEASE understand that this scripture is referring to the REAL YOU - the INWARD MAN, your spirit - you STILL have to renew your mind and present your body ! ! !

RENEW YOUR MIND:

Rom 12:2 (NIV)

2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

PRESENT YOUR BODY:

Rom 12:1 (NIV)

1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship.
